Is the work with Nurses Now full time or casual?

As we are a casual on call agency you will be employed on a casual basis. However, your availabilities will always dictate the amount of work you are eligible for, i.e. the more availabilities you have, the more chances you have of getting the hours you would like.

How much experience is required?

A.

All Nurses Now employees are required to have a minimum of 12 months experience within the Aged Care industry. This applies to all AINs, Cert IV AINs, ENs, EENs and RNs.

How do I know if I have the correct Police Check to apply for a position with Nurses Now?

  1. It is completed by the Australian Federal Police who are located in Weston, ACT. You will complete an application form only available on the AFP website  or given to you by Nurses Now, and send it off to Canberra.
  2. It is a cost of $43.00
  3. It is a white certificate with the AFP symbol located in the top right hand corner
  4. The AFP is current for 3 years and can be downloaded from  here: AFP Application form  or alternatively from the following website www.afp.gov.au

  1. It is completed by your local police station in your area
  2. It is a cost of $54.00

The process is very simple. Our pay week commences each Monday and finishes each Sunday. Your timesheets need to be in to us by 10.30am each Monday for the week just worked to be paid Friday.

What areas am I possibly required to travel to for work?

It is completely at your discretion what areas you choose to work in. You can stay close to home or travel as far as you would like. We have facilities in a number of locations across the Central Coast and Newcastle areas so that all of our nurses have a variety of choices and get work where they choose.

Are uniforms provided?

A.

Yes. All of our nurses are provided with Nurses Now shirts and Identification Tags. We require our nurses to also wear black or navy blue trousers along with enclosed, black shoes. No jewellery is to be worn and hair must be kept neat and tidy at all times.

How can I become a nurse for Nurses Now?

Nurses Now is constantly looking for reliable, enthusiastic and highly qualified nurses. We pride ourselves on having only the very best, therefore we make certain that all prospective employees are screened and must meet stringent requirements before employment is offered. All nurses must have the following documents and meet certain criteria;

  1. Australian Federal Police Check less than 3 years old.
  2. Current Certificates / Registration- i.e.  Current Senior First Aid, Certificate III in Aged Care with a minimum 12 months experience and Current registration for all RNs, EENs and ENs. Please note Nurses Now conduct registration checks with the Nurses and Midwives Board of NSW. We do not require senior first aid certificates from RNs, EENs and ENs.
  3. Identification including Drivers Licence, Birth Certificate and or Passport.
  4. Immunisation Records including Hep B.
  5. Resume with 2 verbal referees regarding your work as a nurse. We conduct reference checks on all applicants. Your reference is a factor in determining whether you are offered employment with Nurses Now.
  6. NSW Office of the Guardian's of the Children - Working With Children Check (WWCC) to ensure currency across varied healthcare sectors.
  7. Your will be required to attend a face to face interview with a Nurses Now representative at time organised which is most convenient to you.
